Founded
in 1959, Key Instruments began as a manufacturer of
injection-molded parts for various industries. The early
days established strong principles in engineering design,
manufacturing, and quality throughout the Key Instruments
organization. These principles continue in everything
we do.
In the 1960’s,
Key Instruments transitioned into a metal and plastic
part machining shop. Expansion and transition are the
results of innovation and vision. Today, Key Instruments
still commits to a continuous learning by building products
based upon the skill of our employees and state-of-the-art
manufacturing technology.
During the 1970’s,
Key Instruments began focusing exclusively on the manufacturing
of high-grade flow meters. We began with acrylic flowmeters,
and then expanded to include molded flow meters, glass
flow meters, electronic flow meters, and more. Key Instrument
employees are experts in flow measurement, flow control,
and fluid dynamics.
In the 1980’s,
Key Instruments was awarded a US Patent for the NIST
traceable primary flow standard. Today, it is used to
support manufacturing and assembly operations and provide
NIST traceable calibration certificates.
In the 1990’s,
Key Instruments began production of an FDA listed flow
meter for use in the medical field. Today, we are proud
to be a FDA registered medical device manufacturer.
Today the Key Instruments
flowmeter manufacturing facility in Trevose, Pennsylvania
comprises one of the largest manufacturers of high quality
flow meters in the world. Our history of problem-solving
engineering and technical proficiency has allowed us
to commit to innovation in the past, for the present,
and into the future.
