Key Instruments Rotameter Manufacturer
As a leading rotameter manufacturer, Key Instruments provides many markets with high quality rotameters at an exceptional value. Simple and affordable rotameters provide practical flow instrumentation solutions for diverse flow metering applications. To accommodate the right capacity, temperature, and pressure; Key Instruments can produce rotameters in countless flow meter variations.Rotameters belong to a class of meters referred to as variable area flow meters. Basic components include a tapered metering tube and a float. Key Instruments can manufacture glass and various plastic rotameters for customers based on specifications and applications. Key Instruments also features an assortment of float sizes, shapes, weights, and materials for your diverse applications.
Rotameter Operation
Rotameters are considered one of the most widely used variable area flow meters on the market due to its simplicity. As the flow of fluid or gas passes through the tapered tube, the float rises. The float rising is a result of the liquid or gas passing through the tapered hole. The flow measurement is taken at the point where the float is in equilibrium between the upward buoyant force and the downward force of the weight of the float. The ability of the flowmeter to read different flow rates comes from the tapered hole. Fluid and gas flow passes through the area between the float and the inside of the tapered hole. The increasing area from the bottom to the top of the tube is what allows different flow to pass through the meter.
Advantages of Key Instruments
Rotameters Include:Readability – Our flow meters are manufactured with flow rate scales that make flow measurement very easily read. We have a wide range of flow ranges that will allow you to find a meter in the exact range you need.
Repeatability – We manufacture flowmeters that will give consistently accurate results every time they are used.
Turn-Down (Rangeability) – Rotameters produced by Key Instruments typically range from 10 to 1; the ratio between the maximum and minimum flowrates. This means all of our flow meters can be used to measure a wide range of flowrates with just one meter.
Low Flow Rates and Pressure Loss – The simple operation of our flow meters use very little driving pressure and will not overly burden your system with high pressure drop flow measurement. We can accurately achieve flow measurements with low pressure loss flow meters.
Viscosity Adjustment – Because Key Instruments creates rotameters for different applications; we design our floats to operate in various chemical environments. Our wide array of flowmeter materials guarantees that we can supply you with a flow meter to meet your compatibility needs.
At Key Instruments, we not only manufacture high quality rotameters with all the advantages listed above, but we also offer flowmeter calibration services for consistently accurate flow measurements. For this reason, it is important to calibrate rotameters regularly. When you need rotameter calibration, trust Key Instruments, as our calibrations are directly traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
