Glass Flow Meters
Glass flowmeters manufactured by Key Instruments withstand higher temperatures, greater pressures, and are more chemically compatible than the acrylic and polycarbonate alternatives. Choose from the standard models featured in our glass flow meter series or let the experts at Key Instruments custom engineer a specialty product that meets your flow instrumentation system or product needs. Our advanced glass drawing machines enable us to manufacture glass tubes to your precise specifications with either our standard millimeter reference scales or direct read scales.Advantages of Glass Flow Meters
Key Instruments’ glass flowmeters are made from high quality Borosilicate Glass. This material is resistant to thermal shock, high temperatures, and chemical attack. By using borosilicate glass our air, water, and gas flow meters have a very low coefficient of thermal expansion, which enables our flow meters to remain consistent. Key Instruments’ glass flow meters exhibit excellent chemical resistance during prolonged exposure time and when temperatures exceed 100°C.
Features of Key Instruments’ Glass Flow meters:
- Tubes are easily and quickly interchangeable
- Lens with magnification
- Highly compatible with most liquids and gases
- Chemical compatibility
- High temperature & pressure range
Based on cost, maximum operating temperature, maximum operating pressure, chemical compatibility, and durability characteristics, glass flow meters surpass all other materials in every category except durability. However, when the proper care is taken, your glass flowmeters should last indefinitely. The maximum operating temperature is 200°F (93°C), the maximum operating pressure is 200 psig (13.8 bar). Key Instruments’ glass flow meters are resistant to a wide range of chemicals including strong acids, chlorine, bromine, iodine as well as water, neutral and acid salt solutions, and organic substances. For more information, see our Chemical Compatibility Chart.
Key Instruments, a custom flow meter manufacturer, provides several options for customers to choose from that will enhance the performance of accurate and consistent flow measurement. We offer flowmeters without valves or cartridge valves and precision control valves for either inlet or outlet functions. Floats can range from black glass, sapphire, stainless steel, carboloy, and tantalum as well as from 1/8” to 1-1/2” float diameter. Aluminum and brass fittings come with the standard Buna-N rubber seals while our exclusive stainless steel fittings are available with Viton®.
Key Instruments believes in providing customers with innovative flow solutions.
