Certain application conditions must be
considered in establishing the innovative flowmeter solution
you need. With this information, Key Instruments determines
what type of material is best suited to your application requirements:
acrylic, glass,
or polycarbonate.

Design Engineering
In order to determine the
design, we also consider whether your flowmeter application
requires:
These conditions may include:
- fluid type (liquid, gas, etc.)
- measurement type (volumetric or mass)
- pipe size (in process applications)
- minimum and maximum process temperature
and pressure
- fluid condition (clean or dirty)
- fluid density
- flow profile considerations
- fluid viscosity
- range
- unit of measure
- chemical compatibility with flowmeter-wetted
parts, and more
In addition to liquid and gas properties
and overall installation needs, performance and cost criteria
are two other areas of importance in the design engineering
process at Key Instruments. We work with customers to develop
a list of performance criteria including, but not limited
to accuracy, reliability, range, and repeatability. Cost criteria
can range from purchase price, installation cost, cost of
ownership, and maintenance cost. At Key Instruments, we keep
prices well within budget by offering design engineering,
manufacturing, and flow calibrations.
To continually meet our customers' needs,
Key Instruments regularly applies its expertise to custom
specialty products. We are experienced in working directly
with your team to provide everything from custom designed
flow meters, rapid prototyping, and precise manufacturing.
Additionally, we offer careful assembly and rigorous testing
of your sub-systems or products.
